Regular Season Round 24: UQAM - Concordia 74-61

There was a small surprise when fifth ranked UQAM (4-8) won against second-best Concordia (6-5) in Montreal 74-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 26-8 charge, which allowed them to win the game. UQAM made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Concordia turnovers. It was a good game for center Emie Simard (183) who led her team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds. Guard Michelle Auger-Bellemare contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Andreanne Gregoire-Boudreau (170) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Magalie Beaulieu (170) added 8 points in the effort for Concordia. UQAM maintains fifth position with 4-8 record. Concordia lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the second place with five games lost. UQAM will have a break next round. Concordia will play at home against Bishop's in Sherbrooke and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
