We should mention about the upset which took place in Tarragona, where higher ranked Melilla Baloncesto (13-9) lost to fifteenth ranked CB Tarragona 2017 (9-13) in a road game 68-78. The game was mostly controlled by CB Tarragona 2017. Melilla Baloncesto was better in fourth quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Swingman Ivan Martinez (193-90) notched 24 points to lead the effort and Dutch-British guard Devon Van Oostrum (190-93) supported him with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. CB Tarragona 2017's coach Bernardo Alvarez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 25 points by American guard Troy DeVries (193-82, college: N.Mexico) did not help to save the game for Melilla Baloncesto. Guard Jose Salvador Arco (194-85) added 12 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. CB Tarragona 2017 moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Breogan and Mallorca. Melilla Baloncesto at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. CB Tarragona 2017's next round opponent will be higher ranked Grupo Iruna Navarra (#7) in Pamplona and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Melilla Baloncesto will play at home against CB Granada.
