Very important is a road loss of second ranked Akita Happinets (18-12) against eighth ranked Shinshu BW (12-18) on Sunday night. Visiting Akita Happinets were defeated by Shinshu BW in Nagano 90-78. The game was mostly controlled by Shinshu BW. Akita Happinets was better in fourth quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Akita Happinets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated also this game. Power forward Lee Roberts (201-87, college: Findlay, OH) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and power forward Edward Morris (205-84, college: Pittsburg St.) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Even 16 points and 9 rebounds by swingman Ricky Woods (194-84, college: SE Louisiana) did not help to save the game for Akita Happinets. Guard Mychal Kearse (194-83, college: Mt.St.Mary's) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shinshu BW maintains eighth position with 12-18 record. Akita Happinets at the other side keep the second place with 12 games lost. Shinshu BW's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Osaka Evessa on the road and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Akita Happinets will play against Sendai 89ers.
