Very important is a road loss of third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (16-12) against seventh ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (11-17) on Sunday night. Visiting Hitachi Sunrockers were defeated by Mitsubishi Dolphins in a tough game in Nagoya 75-79. Hitachi Sunrockers were ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 23-18 charge of Mitsubishi Dolphins, which allowed them to win the game. They made 18-of-23 charity shots (78.3 percent) during the game. American center Byron Allen (201-81, college: Northwestern St.) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) supported him with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four Mitsubishi Dolphins players scored in double figures. Even 23 points by guard Daisuke Kobayashi (188-87) did not help to save the game for Hitachi Sunrockers. Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) added 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Mitsubishi Dolphins maintains seventh position with 11-17 record. Hitachi Sunrockers at the other side keep the third place with 12 games lost. Mitsubishi Dolphins' next round opponent will be higher ranked Tochigi Brex (#5) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Hitachi Sunrockers will play against Hokkaido L. in Saporro.
