Regular Season Round 15: Ourense - Las Rozas 88-70

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourth ranked Ourense and 5th ranked Las Rozas had identical 8-5 record. This time Ourense used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Las Rozas 88-70 on Sunday night. Ourense made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Las Rozas turnovers. It was a good game for center Antoni Jaume Vicens (202-90) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). French-Ivorian forward Francis Koffi (202-81, college: Fresno St.) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Center Jose Balmon (204-81) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Javier Salson (199-82, college: Bloomfield) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Las Rozas. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ourense (9-5) moved-up to second place, which they share with Coruna and Aurteneche M. Newly promoted Las Rozas keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Ourense will face Gandia Basquet (#11) in Valencia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Las Rozas will play at home against Lan Mobel ISB (#8) in Azpeitia.
