Top ranked Canarias (17-5) recorded its fifth loss in Tenerife on Sunday night. Hosts were edged by twelfth ranked CB Clavijo (10-12) 83-81. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Canarias. The guests trailed by 2 points after three quarters before their 24-20 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American point guard Mathew Witt (183-84, college: E.Kentucky) fired 25 points and 8 assists for the winners. Slovenian power forward Sasa Zagorac (205-84) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Jakim Donaldson (204-83, college: Edinboro) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and Argentinian-Italian point guard Nicolas Richotti (181-86) added 11 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. CB Clavijo moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Caceres. Canarias at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. CB Clavijo is looking forward to face higher ranked UB La Palma (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Canarias will play against Girona FC and is hoping to win this game.
