There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (8-22) defeated at home higher ranked Yokohama BC (14-15) 69-62 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 69-62. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Global Sports Plaza) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guyanese-American forward Gordon Klaiber (206-83, college: Fair Dickinson) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and guard Kenji Yamada (180-83) added 10 points respectively for lost side. Yokohama BC's coach Reggie Geary tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Iwate Big Bulls maintains tenth position with 8-22 record. Loser Yokohama BC keeps the sixth place with 15 games lost. Iwate Big Bulls will face higher ranked Niigata Albirex (#3) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
