Regular Season Round 30: Qingdao E. - Beijing Ducks 114-102

The most important game in the last round took place in Qingdao between second ranked Beijing Ducks (19-9) and eleventh ranked Qingdao Double Star (14-15) on Sunday night. Beijing Ducks were defeated by Qingdao Double Star on the road 114-102. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Beijing Ducks. The game was mostly controlled by Qingdao Double Star. Beijing Ducks managed to win second period 36-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Qingdao Double Star made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Beijing Ducks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Lester Hudson (191-84, college: Tenn-Martin) who had a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Forward Gen Li (196-88) chipped in 41 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American power forward Randolph Morris (211-86, college: Kentucky) who recorded 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import guard Stephon Marbury (188-77, college: Georgia Tech) added 22 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Beijing Ducks' coach LuLei Min rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Qingdao Double Star maintains eleventh position with 14-15 record. Beijing Ducks at the other side keep the second place with nine games lost. Qingdao Double Star are looking forward to face TianJin Rongcheng (#14) in Tianjin in the next round. Beijing Ducks will play on the road against Shandong Bulls (#12) in Jinan and are hoping to win this game.
