Regular Season Round 18: Zyrardowianka - Trefl II Sopot 74-106

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Zyrardowianka (4-13) was smashed at home by tenth ranked Trefl II Sopot (6-9) 106-74 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Trefl II Sopot. Zyrardowianka was better in fourth quarter 22-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trefl II Sopot forced 23 Zyrardowianka turnovers and outrebounded them 53-26 including a 35-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. Trefl II Sopot looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Zyrardowianka's players. It was a good game for forward Wojciech Fras (203-91) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Guard David Brembly (197-93) contributed with 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Trefl II Sopot players scored in double figures. Trefl II Sopot's coach Marcin Lichtanski felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Swingman Mariusz Lapinski (194-82) replied with 25 points and 8 rebounds (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Jaroslaw Mus (186-90) added 15 points in the effort for Zyrardowianka. Trefl II Sopot moved-up to ninth place in Group A. Zyrardowianka lost ninth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Trefl II Sopot will face higher ranked Zuraw Gniewno (#5) in Gniewino in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
