Regular Season Round 15: Bracco Geas - Pozzuoli 81-80

The most exciting game of round 15 in the A1 took place in Sesto S.Giovanni. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Pall.Pozzuoli (5-10) to eighth ranked Bracco Geas (7-8) 81-80 on Sunday evening. Pall.Pozzuoli was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 2-point lead after three quarters before a 19-16 charge of Bracco Geas, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Bracco Geas forced 26 Pall.Pozzuoli turnovers. It was a great evening for the former international forward Manuela Zanon (185-80) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. American guard Kristin Haynie (175-83, college: Michigan St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Serbian center Daliborka Vilipic (196-75) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and American power forward Danielle Adams (185-89, college: Texas A&M) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bracco Geas moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Faenza. Pall.Pozzuoli at the other side keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Bracco Geas is looking forward to face CA Faenza (#7) on the road in the next round. Pall.Pozzuoli will play against Cagliari CUS and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
