Regular Season Round 20: Telge - Northland 101-60

Damligan round 20 caused change at the leadership position. Third defeat of league's leader Northland (17-3) against second ranked Telge (18-2) 101-60 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Northland. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Telge led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Northland's 32. They outrebounded Northland 47-24 including a 32-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 9 rebounds. American swingman LaTangela Atkinson (188-84, college: N.Carolina) contributed with 28 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Telge players scored in double figures. Telge's coach Jens Tillman felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Brazilian swingman Silvia Santos Luz (173-75, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 15 points and 4 assists and the former international forward Anna Barthold (183-80, college: St.Peter's, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Northland. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Northland at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Telge. Just two games before the end of Regular Season and it may be the most important game of the season next round when Northland faces Jarfalla trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Telge will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Mark Basket in Kinna.
