Regular Season Round 14: Ullern - Gimle 83-78

An exciting game was played in Oslo. First ranked Ullern faced 4th ranked Gimle. Host Ullern (12-2) defeated guests from Bergen (7-8) 83-78. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-16. But Gimle won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ullern forced 25 Gimle turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (-75) who scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international guard Tina Moen (183-86, college: IPFW) chipped in 27 points and 7 rebounds. Ullern's coach Ingvild Paur used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) produced a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and her fellow American import guard D'lesha Lloyde (183-86, college: Clemson) added 31 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Ullern have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-2 record. Gimle at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Ullern are looking forward to face Ulriken (#3) in Bergen in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gimle will have a break next round.
