Very important is a home loss of third ranked Bennet Cantu (11-8) against sixth ranked Umana Venezia (11-7) on Sunday night. Host Bennet Cantu was defeated by Umana Venezia in a tough game in Cantu 73-78. Bennet Cantu was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 18-12 charge of Umana Venezia, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great shooting night for Umana Venezia especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. American-Bulgarian point guard Kiki Clark (173-84, college: St.Peter's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 33 points (!!!). American guard Timothy Bowers (188-82, college: Mississippi St.) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Umana Venezia's coach Andrea Mazzon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Georgian guard Manuchar Markoishvili (196-86) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (203-85, agency: Beo Basket) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Bennet Cantu. Umana Venezia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Scavolini PS. Bennet Cantu at the other side dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Banco di Sard. and Sidigas AV. Umana Venezia will play against Fabi Shoes Montegranaro (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
