No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Union Hainaut (9-9) beat on the road 12th ranked Lyon (5-13) 79-73 on Sunday. Lyon was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 23-13 charge of Union Hainaut, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American Amisha Carter (186-82, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import point guard Amanda Houts (168-87, college: Georgia, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 18 points for the winners. Turkish power forward Leigh Aziz (186-79, college: Syracuse) replied with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Krystal Thomas (195-89, college: Duke) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Lyon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Union Hainaut moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Tarbes and Nantes. Lyon lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Union Hainaut will face higher ranked Mondeville (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Lyon will play against Aix-en-Provence (#12) in Les Milles and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
