Regular Season Round 28: Toyota A. - Fujitsu RW 65-56

An interesting game for Toyota A. (23-5) which hosted in Nagoya 4th ranked Fujitsu RW (17-11). Second ranked Toyota A. managed to get a 9-point victory 65-56. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Fujitsu RW. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Fujitsu RW won third quarter 14-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Fujitsu RW 37-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Maya Kawahara (167-87) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Mami Ikeda (178-81) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Power forward Ishikawa Mai (179-85) replied with 17 points and the former international center Eriko Kimura (181-83) added 15 points and 4 steals in the effort for Fujitsu RW. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toyota A. maintains second position with 23-5 record behind leader JX Sunflowers. Fujitsu RW at the other side keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
