Regular Season Round 28: Jamtland - Norrkoping 81-83

Ninth-ranked KFUM Jamtland (11-18) gave a tough game to second ranked Norrkoping Dolphins (17-9) on Tuesday. The visitors from Norrkoping managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-18. But KFUM Jamtland won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Norrkoping Dolphins made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Andrew Mitchell (181-79, college: Kent St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 4 assists and Lithuanian forward Povilas Sakinis (199-80) who added 12 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Norrkoping Dolphins' coach Paul Burke used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American-Liberian power forward Boakai Lalugba (200-81, college: Bucknell, agency: Court Side) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Croatian forward Drazen Klaric (205-80, agency: Court Side) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Norrkoping Dolphins have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-9 record behind leader Sodertalje. KFUM Jamtland at the other side keeps the ninth place with 18 games lost. Norrkoping Dolphins are looking forward to face LF Basket (#5) in Lulea in the next round. KFUM Jamtland will play on the road against LF Basket (#5) in Lulea and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
