Regular Season Round 20: CFBB - Roche 71-78 OT

Eighteenth-ranked CFBB (2-18) made lots of trouble for seventh ranked Roche (13-7) in Paris on Tuesday. The visitors from Roche managed to secure only seven-point victory 78-71. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 3-point lead at the halftime then CFBB managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Roche who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-8. They made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. Roche forced 20 CFBB turnovers. Strangely CFBB outrebounded Roche 43-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Moustafa Diallo (200-86) who helped to win the game recording 18 points (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and forward Erwan Andre (200-89) who added 13 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Roche players scored in double figures. Power forward Mouhammadou Jaiteh (201-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds and guard Anthony Racine (190-94) scored 13 points. CFBB's coach Jacques Commeres rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Roche have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. CFBB lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Roche will meet at home Stade Clermont (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CFBB will play against Lievin Basket and hope to secure a win.
