Regular Season Round 20: Angers BC 49 - Chartres 67-75

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked Angers BC 49 (9-11) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Chartres (9-11) 75-67 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-67. Chartres dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Angers BC 49's 28. Chartres forced 19 Angers BC 49 turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian center Ljubomir Avramovic (201-79) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and forward Guillaume Merie (198-83) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Chartres' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Tyray Pearson (201-80, college: Iowa St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and forward SyPir Traore (204-85) scored 21 points and 7 rebounds. Chartres moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Brest and Angers BC 49. Chartres will meet at home Montbrison (#17) in the next round where they are favorite. Angers BC 49 will play against Etendard de Brest (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
