Regular Season Round 31: Korihait - KTP 99-83

We should mention about the upset which took place in Uusikaupunki, where higher ranked KTP-Basket (12-17) lost to tenth ranked UU-Korihait (10-17) in a road game 83-99 on Wednesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of KTP-Basket. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 99-83. It was a great shooting night for UU-Korihait especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. It was a great evening for point guard Mikko Jalonen (186-82) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 4 assists. American forward James Reaves (203-82, college: Niagara, agency: TSS Management) helped adding 20 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side American swingman Tony Crocker (201-87, college: Oklahoma) responded with 19 points and the other American import forward Tim Blue (205-84, college: Middle Tenn.St.) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Four UU-Korihait and five KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. KTP-Basket's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. UU-Korihait moved-up to ninth place. Loser KTP-Basket keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. UU-Korihait will meet league's second-placed Loimaan Korikonkarit on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. KTP-Basket will have a break next round.
