Regular Season Round 27: McMaster - Western 77-63

There was no surprise in Hamilton, ON where 7th ranked Mustangs (7-12) were defeated by third ranked Marauders (14-5) 77-63. The game was mostly controlled by Marauders. Mustangs was better in fourth quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Marauders forced 20 Mustangs turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for forward Cam Michaud (198) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Victor Raso (193) accounted for 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Marauders' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Ryan Barbeau (178) came up with 20 points and 6 assists and forward Peter Scholtes (196) added 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) respectively for Mustangs in the defeat. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Marauders. They maintain third place with 14-5 record having three points less than leader Lakehead. Mustangs at the other side keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
