Regular Season Round 19: Tln Kalev - Valga 78-75

The most exciting game of round 19 in the KML took place in Tallinn. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked Valga/CKE (3-17) to sixth ranked Tln Kalev (6-14) 78-75 on Wednesday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Valga/CKE won third quarter 18-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tln Kalev made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Valga/CKE turnovers. It was a great evening for American guard Brandis Raley-Ross (188-87, college: S.Carolina) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points. Russian center Aleksei Fedortchuk (210-86, agency: Ryzhov Stanislav) helped adding 13 points and 13 rebounds. At the losing side Latvian center Lauris Blaus (204-90, agency: FCM) responded with 20 points and 9 rebounds and Latvian guard Reinis Strupovics (192-87) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tln Kalev maintains sixth place with 6-14 record. Valga/CKE lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 17 games lost. Tln Kalev are looking forward to face league's leader Tartu Ulikool at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Valga/CKE will play against BC Rakvere (#3) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
