A very interesting game took place in Burgos. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 12th ranked Real Celta Vigo (4-14) to ninth ranked Arranz-Jopisa Burgos (6-12) 65-64 on Wednesday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-10. But Real Celta Vigo won second period 22-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Arranz-Jopisa Burgos made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Point guard Lorena Infantes (171-81) notched 17 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Chilean center Ziomara Morrison (193-89) supported her with 8 points and 13 rebounds. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by American forward Demetress Adams (193-87, college: S.Carolina) did not help to save the game for Real Celta Vigo. Brazilian center Damiris Dantas (192-92) added 10 points and 9 rebounds. Four Real Celta Vigo players scored in double figures. Real Celta Vigo's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Arranz-Jopisa Burgos maintains ninth position with 6-12 record. Real Celta Vigo lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Arranz-Jopisa Burgos' next round opponent will be league's leader Ros Casares in Valencia and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Real Celta Vigo will play at home against Hondarribia-Irun (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
