Regular Season Round 25: Acadia - St.Mary's 77-65

The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Acadia's (12-1) home victory over their biggest opponent Huskies (10-5) 77-65 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Acadia. Huskies was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Swingman Emma Duinker (182-89) stepped up and scored 32 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and forward Abbey Duinker (188-91) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side international guard Justine Colley (175-91) responded with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and guard Lindsay Panchan scored 20 points (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Acadia have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They maintain first place with 12-1 record. Loser Huskies keep the second position with five games lost. Acadia will face St.Francis Xavier (#5) in Antigonish in the next round. Huskies will play at home against Memorial in St. John's and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
