The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked UFV's (12-6) road victory over 3rd placed Trinity Western (9-9) 74-65 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 47-35 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Aieisha Luyken (173) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Tessa Klassen (173-88) chipped in 15 points. UFV's coach Al Tuchscherer allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Holly Strom (180) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center Laurelle Weigl (193-88, college: Simon Fraser) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. UFV maintains second place with 12-6 record having six points less than leader Windsor. Trinity Western lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
