Very predictable result when sixth ranked Atenas (12-8) won against 13th ranked Club 9 (7-14) in Cordoba 86-74 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Atenas. Club 9 was better in second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for the former international guard Bruno Labaque (183-77, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. The former international swingman Matias Lescano (196-79) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American power forward Jazwin Cowan (205-83, college: Hampton, agency: Dream Team Management) answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Diego Gerbaudo (182-89) added 14 points in the effort for Club 9. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Atenas moved-up to fifth place. Club 9 at the other side keeps the thirteenth position with 14 games lost. Atenas will face league's second-placed Obras in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Club 9 will play on the road against Olimpico de La Banda (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
