There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Yokohama BC (16-15) defeated at home 6th ranked Shimane Magic (17-15) 73-66 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 41-33 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Justin Burrell (235-88, college: St.John's) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Kenji Yamada (180-83) contributed with 19 points and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) answered with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import center Jeral Davis (216-84) added 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks in the effort for Shimane Magic. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC moved-up to third place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Sendai 89ers. Shimane Magic lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
