Leading Stingers (10-2) recorded its second loss in Montreal, QC. Hosts were edged by fifth ranked Gaiters (2-9) 78-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Stingers. Stingers were ahead by 8 points at the halftime before a 47-36 second half run of Gaiters. They also forced 21 Stingers turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Tim Hunter (201) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds and guard Sean Monplaisir (188) who added 8 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Gaiters players scored in double figures. At the losing side international point guard Kyle Desmarais (188-87, college: Cent.Conn.St.) responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Evens Laroche (193) scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gaiters maintains fifth position with 2-9 record. Stingers at the other side still keep top place with two games lost. Gaiters will play against higher ranked Citadines (#3) in Montreal, QC in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Stingers will have a break next round.
