Regular Season Round 28: Saskatchewan - Manitoba 95-79

CIS top team - Huskies (14-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat fifth ranked Bisons (8-11) in Saskatoon, SK 95-79. The game without a history. Huskies led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Bisons' 46. Huskies forced 21 Bisons turnovers and outrebounded them 46-35 including 16 on the offensive glass. American point guard Jamelle Barrett (180) fired a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. International forward Michael Lieffers (203-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points and 19 rebounds. American guard Stephan Walton (175-87, college: Valdosta St.) produced 20 points and 5 rebounds and Kurtis Sansregret added 20 points respectively for lost side. Four Bisons players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Huskies have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record. Bisons lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 11 games lost. Huskies' next round opponent will be again Bisons (#5) in Winnipeg, MB.
