Regular Season Round 28: Toronto Univ. - Laurentian 104-88

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifth ranked Blues (8-11) defeated one of their biggest challengers Voyageurs (9-10) in Toronto, ON 104-88 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Blues. Voyageurs was better in third quarter 28-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Blues dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Voyageurs' 42. Quite impressive performance for center Andrew Wasik (201) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 9 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Forward Alex Hill (196, college: Cornell) contributed with 28 points for the winners. Four Blues players scored in double figures. Guard Manny Pasquale (183) replied with 35 points (!!!) and Alex Ratte added 26 points and 4 assists in the effort for Voyageurs. Blues maintains fifth position with 8-11 record, which they share with Guelph and Manitoba. Loser Voyageurs keep the fourth place with ten games lost. Blues' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Toronto, ON Lions.
