Regular Season Round 32: Shanghai S. - Jiangsu D. 103-83

Very expected game when 17th ranked Jiangsu Dragons (7-23) were crushed on the road by sixth ranked Shanghai Sharks (17-13) 103-83 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 20 points. Shanghai Sharks dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Jiangsu Dragons' 44. They outrebounded Jiangsu Dragons 49-34 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Mike Harris (198-83, college: Rice) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 28 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import forward Marcus Landry (201-85, college: Wisconsin) who added 22 points during the contest. Four Shanghai Sharks players scored in double figures. Shanghai Sharks' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Lebanese power forward Jackson Vroman (208-81, college: Iowa St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 18 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Li Yang (194-85) scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Shanghai Sharks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Guangsha L. Jiangsu Dragons lost seventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Shanghai Sharks will face league's second-placed Beijing Ducks on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Jiangsu Dragons will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in Hangzhou.
