Regular Season Round 32: DongGuan L. - Fujian QB 124-104

Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Fujian SBS XunXin (17-14) was rolled over on the road by third ranked DongGuan Leopards (19-11) 124-104 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by DongGuan Leopards. Fujian SBS XunXin was better in second period 30-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. DongGuan Leopards made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Fujian SBS XunXin was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Shavlik Randolph (208-83, college: Duke) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and the former international center Kai Zhang (211-82) who added 21 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. DongGuan Leopards' coach Brian Goorjian used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Will McDonald (211-79, college: S.Florida) responded with 27 points and 7 rebounds and Jordanian forward Zaid Abbas (203-83) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds. Four DongGuan Leopards and five Fujian SBS XunXin players scored in double figures. DongGuan Leopards maintains third position with 19-11 record having seven points less than leader Guandong ST. Fujian SBS XunXin at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. DongGuan Leopards will face Xinjiang Flying Tige (#8) in Urumqi in the next round where they are favorite.
