Regular Season Round 25: Saskatchewan - Manitoba 76-67

Date: February 10, 2012
Not a big story in a game in Saskatoon where 7th ranked Manitoba (3-16) was defeated by third ranked Saskatchewan (13-5) 76-67 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 48-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Saskatchewan made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Saskatchewan outrebounded Manitoba 36-21 including 24 on the defensive glass. Forward Katie Miyazaki (175-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and forward Dalyce Emmerson (191) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). At the losing side guard Stephanie Gill (167) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and forward Allison Balasko (180) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Saskatchewan have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Manitoba lost thirteenth consecutive game. They keep the seventh position with 16 games lost. Saskatchewan will face again Manitoba (#7) in Winnipeg in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game.
