Regular Season Round 25: Concordia - Bishop's 71-40

The game between closely ranked teams ended with second ranked Concordia's (7-5) home victory over 3rd placed Bishop's (5-6) 71-40 on Friday. The game without a history. Concordia led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bishop's to just 6 points in fourth quarter. Concordia forced 26 Bishop's turnovers and outrebounded them 49-30 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Kaylah Barrett (173) stepped up and scored 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and guard Alex Boudreau (170) chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Gabrielle Chamberland (175) responded with 11 points and guard Catherine Rondeau (165) scored 5 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Concordia maintains second place with 7-5 record having seventeen points less than leader Windsor. Loser Bishop's keep the third position with six games lost. Concordia will have a break next round. Bishop's will play at home against UQAM in Montreal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
