Regular Season Round 15: Tochigi Brex - Mitsubishi DD 83-81

Seventh-ranked Mitsubishi Dolphins (11-19) were very close to win a game against fifth ranked Tochigi Brex (15-15). Tochigi Brex managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected easier game. Mitsubishi Dolphins were ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 24-21 charge of Tochigi Brex, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American forward Ivan McFarlin (203-82, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 12 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) helped adding 15 points and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Ron Hale (203-77, college: Florida St.) with 27 points and the former international guard Kei Igarashi (180-80) scored 21 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Tochigi Brex have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 15-15 record. Mitsubishi Dolphins at the other side keep the seventh position with 19 games lost. Tochigi Brex will play against league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Fuchu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Mitsubishi Dolphins will play at home against Panasonic Trians (#4) in Osaka and hope to get back on the winning track.
