Regular Season Round 17: Logan T. - AIS 83-60

Date: February 11, 2012
No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Logan Thunder (11-9) crushed bottom-ranked AIS (2-20) in Loganholme 83-60 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Logan Thunder. AIS managed to win fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Logan Thunder forced 23 AIS turnovers. New Zealand forward Natalie Taylor (182-84, college: SE Missouri St.) nailed 19 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Renae Camino (177-86) accounted for 15 points. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. Forward Sara Blicavs (188-93) came up with 19 points and guard Casey Samuels (180-94) added 13 points respectively for AIS in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Logan Thunder moved-up to sixth place. Loser AIS stay dead last with 20 lost games. Logan Thunder will meet league's second-placed Bulleen Boomers in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. AIS will have a break next round.
