We should mention about the upset which took place in Las Palmas, where higher ranked Meridiano Alicante (13-7) lost to thirteenth ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (8-12) in a road game 53-61 on Saturday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 21-11. But Meridiano Alicante won second period 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gran Canaria 2014 forced 20 Meridiano Alicante turnovers. Meridiano Alicante was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Greek swingman Michael Bramos (196-87, college: Miami, OH) who scored 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
