Regular Season Round 13: Samedicino - Sokhumi 68-87
Date: February 11, 2012
Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Tbilisi: Sokhumi (#4) and Samedicino-Academia (#9). Samedicino-Academia was crushed at home by 19 points 68-87 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It looked good early as Samedicino-Academia took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Sokhumi had a 18-12 second period charge getting the lead and Samedicino-Academia was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-87. 25 personal fouls committed by Samedicino-Academia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Lasha Parghalava (191-87, college: Montana St. - Billin, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. International guard Levan Patsatsia (198-88, college: Troy) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Sokhumi players scored in double figures. Serbian power forward Nemanja Ilic (206-83) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Akaki Dvalishvili (206-90) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Samedicino-Academia. Samedicino-Academia's coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Sokhumi maintains fourth place with 8-4 record, which they share with MIA Academy. Samedicino-Academia at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. Sokhumi's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tbilisi to the arena Dinamo Tbilisi.
