Regular Season Round 29: Laurier - Windsor 69-77

There was a minor upset in Waterloo, ON where second-ranked Golden Hawks (16-4) were defeated by fourth ranked Lancers (13-7) 77-69 on Saturday. Golden Hawks trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 22-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 69-77 at the end of the game. International forward Lien Phillip (203-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and guard Josh Collins (186-90) chipped in 19 points. Four Lancers players scored in double figures. International forward Kale Harrison (196) responded with 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Conor Meschino (195) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Golden Hawks' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lancers moved-up to second place, which they share with Ottawa. Loser Golden Hawks keep the second position with four games lost. Lancers will face Badgers (#5) in St.Catharines, ON in the next round. Golden Hawks' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Waterloo, ON to the arena Warriors.
