Regular Season Round 15: Hitachi SR - Hokkaido L. 60-57

Sixth-ranked Hokkaido L. (13-17) was very close to win a game against third ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (17-13) in Osaka. Hitachi Sunrockers managed to secure only three-point victory 60-57. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hokkaido L. won third quarter 15-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was international power forward Joji Takeuchi (206-85, agency: N.E.T.) who scored 4 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Swedish forward Christian Maraker (206-82, college: Pacific) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) who recorded 20 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Jai Lewis (201-83, college: George Mason, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Hitachi Sunrockers maintains third place with 17-13 record having five points less than leader Aishin SH, which they share with Panasonic T. Hokkaido L. at the other side keeps the sixth position with 17 games lost. Hitachi Sunrockers' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Toshiba Thunders (#8) in Kanagawa which should be theoretically an easy game. Hokkaido L. will play at home against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses in Kariya.
