A very close game was the one between KKL and Bank of Taiwan. Seventh ranked KKL (4-8) got a very close victory over 7th ranked Bank of Taiwan (3-10). KKL managed to escape with a 1-point win 58-57 on Saturday evening. KKL trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 1 point. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Bank of Taiwan to just 5 points in second quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when KKL made 7 blocks. American center Elbert Fuqua (211-83, college: UTSA) scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Wei-Fang Shang (196-78) chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was international forward Shun-Hsiang Chen (190-85) with 22 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward John Vaudreuil (203-85, college: Minn.-Duluth, agency: Warren Sports International) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds. KKL moved-up to fifth place. Loser Bank of Taiwan stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. KKL will meet higher ranked Yulon Luxgen (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bank of Taiwan will play against the league's leader Pure Youth (#1) and hope to secure a win.
