Regular Season Round 30: Nitra - Levice 75-48

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Nitra (18-9) smashed at home 7th ranked Levice (11-16) 75-48 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Nitra. Levice was better in second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Levice to just 6 points in third quarter. Nitra dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Levice's 26. They outrebounded Levice 43-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was international guard Milan Ziak (190-88) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. The former international guard Robert Nuber (187-83) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Four Nitra players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was British center Michael Bernard (205-78, college: S.Florida) who recorded 16 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Kevin Bridgewaters (175-84, college: Chattanooga) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Levice's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Nitra maintains second position with 18-9 record behind leader Prievidza. Levice lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost. Nitra will have a break next round. Levice will play at home against Handlova (#4).
