Regular Season Round 29: RMC - Ottawa 34-105
Date: February 11, 2012
No shocking result in a game in Kingston, ON where second ranked Gee-Gees (13-7) outleveled bottom-ranked RMC (0-20) 105-34 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gee-Gees led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding RMC to just 2 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Gee-Gees held RMC to an opponent 18.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.8 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded RMC 44-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vikas Gill stepped up and scored 25 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and Shamus Ferguson chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Five Gee-Gees players scored in double figures. Alexandre Lavoie responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds and guard James Byun (185) scored 10 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gee-Gees maintains second place with 13-7 record having just -5 point less than leader Saskatchewan, which they share with Windsor. Loser RMC still closes the standings with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
