Rather expected game in Katowice where 6th ranked Alba Chorzow (10-9) was crushed by fourth ranked AZS AWF K-ce (13-6) 82-54 on Saturday. The game without a history. AZS AWF K-ce led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. AZS AWF K-ce forced 24 Alba Chorzow turnovers and had a 33-22 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when AZS AWF K-ce made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Kamil Nowak (196-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Marcin Ecka (184-78) helped adding 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Five AZS AWF K-ce players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Krzysztof Wozniak (200-82) responded with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Adam Spychala (197-84) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AZS AWF K-ce maintains fourth place in Group B with 13-6 record, which they share with WKK Obiekty. Alba Chorzow lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. AZS AWF K-ce will face MKS Skierniew. (#10) in Skierniewice in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Alba Chorzow will play at home against HK Zory (#9).
