Regular Season Round 15: Gimle - Ullern 67-61

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Ullern (13-3) in Bergen on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by fourth ranked Gimle (8-8) 67-61. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Ullern. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-16. But Ullern won second period 17-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for American guard D'lesha Lloyde (183-86, college: Clemson) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Her fellow American import power forward Amber Land (188-85, college: E.Michigan) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international guard Tina Moen (183-86, college: IPFW) answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Kristine Kristiansen (-75) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Ullern. Gimle maintains fourth place with 8-8 record. Ullern at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Gimle are looking forward to face bottom-ranked NTNUI Basket (#6) in Trondheim in the next round. Ullern's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Oslo Tigers.
