Very expected game when 9th ranked West Coast Waves (2-19) were smashed by second ranked Bulleen Boomers (15-6) in Melbourne 81-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Bulleen Boomers. West Coast Waves managed to win third quarter 14-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bulleen Boomers forced 26 West Coast Waves turnovers. The former international center Liz Cambage (203-91) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and international guard Rachel Jarry (185-91) accounted for 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Bulleen Boomers players scored in double figures. The former international forward Rohanee Cox (182-80) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and guard Melissa Marsh (175-85) added 16 points and 4 assists respectively for West Coast Waves in the defeat. West Coast Waves' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains second place with 15-6 record having just three points less than leader Adelaide. West Coast Waves lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 19 games lost. Bulleen Boomers will meet at home Logan Thunder (#6) in the next round. West Coast Waves will play against Sydney Uni Flames and hope to secure a win.
