Regular Season Round 26: St.Mary's - Memorial 76-83

Very important is a home loss of second ranked Huskies (10-6) against fourth ranked Memorial (9-6) on Saturday night. Host Huskies were defeated by Memorial in a tough game in Halifax, NS 76-83. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Huskies won third quarter 22-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Memorial shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 76.5 percentage. Forward Ally Forsey (191-90) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Robyn O'Rielly (178) chipped in 12 points during the contest. International guard Justine Colley (175-91) responded with 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and center Susanne Canvin (180-88) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Memorial have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 9-6 record. Huskies lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the third place with six games lost. Memorial will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Huskies will play again against Memorial in St. John's and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
