Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Lethbridge (6-14) was defeated at home by top-ranked Regina (19-0) 78-63 on Saturday. The game without a history. Regina led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They also forced 20 Lethbridge turnovers. The best player for the winners was Polish guard Joanna Zalesiak (174-88, college: UTEP) who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. International swingman Lindsay Ledingham (183-90) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Regina players scored in double figures. Forward Kimberley Veldman (188) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and guard Lauren Taal (175) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Regina have an impressive 19-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 19-0 record. Loser Lethbridge keeps the sixth place with 14 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
