The game between second ranked Ammerud (11-4) and 6th ranked NTNUI Basket (1-15) in Oslo on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Ammerud outscored guests from Trondheim 91-34. The game without a history. Ammerud led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding NTNUI Basket to just 6 points in first and second quarters and to 12 points in first half. Ammerud dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to NTNUI Basket's 32. Ammerud forced 28 NTNUI Basket turnovers and outrebounded them 45-27 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by NTNUI Basket's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Ammerud made 7 blocks. It was a quality performance for the former international guard Anna Hammer (181-89) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Kristina Kroge (-87) accounted for 17 points for the winning side. Ammerud's coach Patxi Exposito felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Charlene Gris came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and guard Hanna Gaarder added 10 points respectively for NTNUI Basket in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Ammerud. Newly promoted Ammerud maintains second place with 11-4 record having just three points less than leader Ullern. NTNUI Basket lost their eleventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Ammerud's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Oslo Oslo Tigers.
