Regular Season Round 17: B.Gais Neptune - UCD Marian 89-71

An interesting game for B.Gais Neptune (10-6) which hosted in Cork 3rd placed UCD Marian (6-11). Second ranked B.Gais Neptune had an easy win 89-71. B.Gais Neptune dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to UCD Marian's 36. They outrebounded UCD Marian 59-29 including a 40-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. B.Gais Neptune looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by UCD Marian's players. Swingman Kevin Foley (193-83) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Conor Meany (185-86) added 12 points respectively for UCD Marian in the defeat. B.Gais Neptune maintains second place with 10-6 record having seven points less than leader UCC Demons. UCD Marian lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the third position with 11 games lost. B.Gais Neptune will meet league's second-placed 11890 Killester in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. UCD Marian will play against the league's leader UCC Demons in Cork and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
