Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: As Sadd (#3) and Al Ahli (#6). As Sadd (6-2) smashed visiting Al Ahli (2-6) by 17 points 78-61. As Sadd dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Al Ahli's 34. As Sadd forced 20 Al Ahli turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American center Michael Southall (210-82, college: La-Lafayette) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Khalid Suliman (198-87) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Four As Sadd players scored in double figures. As Sadd's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Youla Mohammed replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds and American guard Cory Bradford (191-78, college: Illinois, agency: Edge Sports) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Al Ahli. As Sadd moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Gharrafah. Al Ahli at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. As Sadd's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Doha to the arena Al Arabi.
